This is an old revision of the document!
Mentions of things related to Amphoreus (though not explicitly connected):
- Herta Asset Damage Evaluation List: Towards the end, it mentions the “Aquila constellation” being something that a megascope is used to observe.
- Species of the Galaxy: Tottonid: Towards the end, it mentions “that Aeon,” which seems to be referring to Fuli based on the “lost people of yesteryear” being able to “be given a rebirth.”
- Researchers' Memo Notes: This is spurious, but I love the fact that there's a mention of a Melon Fairy (Part IV) as far back as 1.0… and then we get Anaxa and his giant crops.
- Lord Ravagers (Destruction) entry mentions both 'coreflames' and the 'sea of stars' when referencing a quote in the in-world Fables About the Stars by Adrian Spencer Smith; at some point, we're going to need the game to address who this guy is, even in a random note.
- Cognition Reviewer in the Divergent Universe (Human Comedy) has some interesting parallels to what's been happening on Amphoreus, while Mausoleum of Scars has parallels to Phainon in particular. There's also bits of Purifier that feel like how Evernight took care of March 7th, and then Bookwriter reminds me of Mem/Cyrene.
- Rescuer (Divergent Universe, The Human Comedy) reminds me quite a bit of Phainon's many cycles.
- The structure of Jarilo: God of Spring and War, there are some things that remind me of Amphoreus. The Eternal Freeze feels similar to the Black Tide; the cyclical nature of the story and one of the cycles getting broken.
Strange references to the real world:
- Notification for Physical Exams refers to the “Herta Panopticon System,” which is a discomforting connection to Jeremy Bentham's Panopticon.
- Curio Management, Part III amuses me so much because there's a reference to Bonnie Tyler's song, which John Steinman said he wrote to be a vampire love song.
- The Xianzhou Zhuming has a line that seems to reference the Ship of Theseus (the ship no longer looks as it originally did, as it has been modified constantly).
